Tanzania Red Cross Society (TRCS) under WASH Skybird micro-project conducted reminding session on sexual reproductive health to youth girls and boys in November 2022.

The topics provided were:

  1. Prevention of STIs infections include HIV ( This session went together with introducing the HIV self-test kit (ORAQUICK). 262 youths willingly tested themselves on spot and the clinician lead them in conduct self-test and read the results. Total of 98 kits were taken by youths for their sexual partners, friends and peers.
  2. Prevention of unwanted pregnancy (Reminding session on condom use)
  3. Preventive measures against sexual exploitation and abuse (Discouraging harmful gender norms)

TRCS WASH Skybird team in the end October 2022 conducted reminding MHM and SRH sessions in 3 schools. The MHM session goes together with distribution of MHM kits and activation of SWASH clubs (Significantly increase the number of club members). A total number of 125M and 144 F were reached with campaign sessions. A total number 335 Re-usable pads were distributed to youth girls. And the 4 schools were given 144 Re-usable pads as reserve to serve future period emergency in school. TRCS WASH Skybird team also conducted reminding session on menstrual health management and distributed 1294 Kits to youth girls outside the school.
