Geoffrey Omoding from SINA in Uganda will talk about design thinking based on a WASH enterprise they supported. Ashenafi Abreham shares about his work at the Water & Sanitation Incubation Programme (WSIP) at iceaddis and also invites 2 ventures to provide practical examples. The Kenya Red Cross Innovation Team will tell us more about the importance of prototyping which they do at their humanitarian, communty-based lab.

Mariangela D'Adamo (WASH Specialist MSB - Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency) interviews Nicole Klaesner-Metzner (WASH Specialist at UNICEF Regional Office South Asia) who decided to talk about Hand Hygiene. Hand Hygiene has been put front and center when the pandemic started but for WASH practitioners it has always been at the center stage to combat all kinds of diseases. The real questions are: how would Nicole use magic powers to improve the situation around Hand Hygiene and which magical place would Nicole visit for a holiday?

WHAT ELSE?
- The Hygiene Promotion Global TWG will host an online event on the Link between Hygiene and Mental Health on April 7, 13:00 CEST.
- The new Compendium of Hygiene Promotion in Emergencies has been launched at the World Water Forum in Dakar. Many NS Staff, volunteers and IFRC Regional Colleagues supported this process. A correspinding online platform has been launched on emergency-wash.org/.
- On April 5, 14:30 CEST, Design Outreach and RWSN are hosting a webinar on Policy influence for ultra-deep reaching hand pumps: Case study for LifePump acceptance in Zambia and Malawi.
- The WatSan Missionassisstant now has a dedicated section on Climate and Environment, showcasing relevant tools, guidelines and resources for everyone to access.
- Ask4Water, the Skat Foundation and RWSN published 3 action research papers on the scale and extent of rapid handpump corrosion, the use of poor-quality handpump components in sub-Saharan Africa and possible actions how to adress those problems.
- IFRC is looking for a WASH Officer to be based in Cameroon. Application Deadline: April 11.
