My name is Ashenafi Abreham. I did my masters (MSc) in Water and Waste Engineering at Loughborough University Water, Engineering and Development Centre (WEDC) in the UK. The program focused on designing and choosing appropriate water supply, sanitation options and hygiene practices. It also provided insights into project planning, design, execution and evaluation.

My interest in the WASH sector led me to decide to move back to Ethiopia after living in the UK for some time.  I have been working in various WASH related projects, since I moved back to Ethiopia, including volunteering at Ethiopian Red Cross Society.

I have recently joined Austrian Red Cross to support the Skybird Micro Projects in Ethiopia and also to facilitate the Skybird WASH Network.

I had the opportunity to participate in the Skybird Programme activities and my most favorite moments were the site visit to Boricha woreda in Sidama region of Ethiopia and developing the Skybird Micro Project proposal for this area, as witnessing WASH problems and working towards solving these challenges provides a great satisfaction.
