Project Title: Innovative and Sustainable Toilet Construction and Sanitation Project in Adjumani

Summary: Ciforo sub-county has a 58 % latrine coverage and performs badly with regards to hand washing, especially in comparison with surrounding areas. This is partly attributed to the drop in latrine coverage due to frequent, heavy flooding as well as loose, sandy soil conditions, a very heavy slab and termite invasions. The project wants to introduce a new method to build flood resistant latrines with a lighter slab using termite proof palm timber. The intervention is accompanied by educative WASH software activities.
